Today, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia announced at Nokia World the launch of two new smartphones running under the Symbian^3 OS, the Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01, both set to join hands with the company's high-end Nokia N8 device.

The new mobile phones come to the market with a nice range of highly appealing features, being meant to show to the world that Nokia can still deliver great experiences to its users.

Not to mention that they run under the latest version of the Symbian platform, which “brings more than 250 new features and improvements and retains the familiarity enjoyed by millions of smartphone users worldwide,” as the company announced.

“Today our fight back to smartphone leadership shifts into high gear. Despite new competition, Symbian remains the most widely used smartphone platform in the world,” Niklas Savander, Executive Vice President, Markets, Nokia, stated.

“Our new family of smartphones introduced today feature the all-new Symbian OS, rewritten to be faster, easier to use, more efficient and more developer friendly.

“Based on the level of consumer interest and the highest online pre-orders in Nokia history, we expect big things from the Nokia N8,” he added.

The new Nokia C7 smartphone comes with a 3.5-inch AMOLED display and sports an appealing combination of stainless steel, glass and soft edges.

Moreover, the new mobile phone includes great social networking capabilities, offering live updates from social networks such as Facebook and Twitter and enabling users to stay up to date with Yahoo! or Gmail accounts, all directly from the phone's home screen.

The new device should be released on the market before the end of the ongoing year. It is expected to feature an estimated retail price of EUR 335, excluding taxes and subsidies.

In a nutshell, the Nokia C6-01 sports a 3.2-inch AMOLED display, enhanced social networking capabilities and support for Ovi Music and Ovi Store.

This handset is expected to land on the market sometime in the fourth quarter of the ongoing year with a price tag of EUR 260 attached to it, excluding taxes and subsidies.

The mobile phone maker also notes that the new operating system should offer an enhanced experience to its users, with visual multitasking, gesture-based interactions, fewer prompts and more.

“People will also discover free Ovi Maps, access to Ovi Store, messaging, social networking and other experiences that come standard across all of these smartphones,” the company announced.
