Symantec has just released a new Android application for parental monitoring, “Norton Safety Minder.” The security software allows users to see all the sites that kids are browsing or attempt to browse using their Android smartphones.

Some of the features included are available for free, such as Online Activity Reporting and Web Monitoring & Blocking, while others like Text Message Monitoring, Multi Media Message Monitoring and App Monitoring require a Norton Online Family Premier account.

“Norton Safety Minder” is now available as a free download in the Android Market, but requires users to sign up for a desktop Norton Online Family account.

This is another free parental control suite especially designed for desktops, but for all the features to be accessible a Norton Online Family Premier account is required.

It is only compatible with devices that run Android 2.2 Froyo or Android 2.3 Gingerbread and only requires 4 MB of storage.
