Symantec has just updated Endpoint Protection with Windows 8.1 support, thus making its security app work with Microsoft’s latest operating system.

As Windows Report writes, Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.4013.4013 comes with support for both Windows 8.1 and Windows 2012 R2, while on Mac OS X system it brings full compatibility with the newly-launched Mavericks.

In addition, the new build packs SEPM Manageability enhancements, which means that it “allows immediate critical security even notification and additional telemetry,” as the official release notes mention, while also offering fixes for customer-reported issues.

In addition to Windows 8.1, Symantec Endpoint Protection works on all the other Windows versions, including XP, Vista, 7, and 8. Both 32- and 64-bit editions should be just fine.

All in all, if you’ve already made the move to Windows 8.1, make sure you download Symantec Endpoint Protection in order to protect your computer from the latest threats out there.
