Symantec has launched the Cyber Readiness Challenge, a capture-the-flag style competition that gives security experts the opportunity to test their skills in a real-world environment.

The competition will take place at various locations and it will allow participants to learn a lot of useful things about how to protect an organization’s networks from cyberattacks by putting them in the shoes of the attacker.

Entering the challenge is free, but participants must register to a specific location where the competition takes place.

The event calendar is the following:

January 29: Dallas February 5: Chicago February 28: New York City March 6: Minneapolis March 13: Mountain View April 30: Columbus, OH

The participant that manages to collect most points will receive a $2,500 (equivalent of 1,875 EUR) Visa gift card.
