How about Sylvester Stallone as Han Solo? Today, after the role was made famous by Harrison Ford, it's very difficult to visualize anyone else playing the space mercenary with a very tall and fury sidekick, but the truth is that even the great Sylvester Stallone auditioned for the role back in the day.

Stallone is quoted by Contactmusic as saying that he reluctantly turned down the role of Han Solo back in the day, right during his audition. The “Expendables” star recounts that he immediately knew he wasn't getting the part after entering the room and seeing George Lucas' facial expression.

“After you've seen 100 people, you get tired, so you just hope the guy in front of you disappears... I got nowhere,” the actor remembers about how the events on the day of the casting went down.

Taking his chances, Stallone then said “Let me just make it easy for you; I would look like crap in Spandex, leotards and a ray gun. Guys from outer space don't have this kind of face.” The role then went to Harrison Ford, who now ironically starred side by side with Stallone in his latest “Expendables” movie, and actually made quite an impression on the rest of the muscle-bound cast.
