You know him as one of the toughest guys in Hollywood today, despite gracing the big screen for more than 30 years. He's not afraid of terrorists, snakes or any other type of reptile out there, but Sylvester Stallone is afraid that using social media will get him into trouble.

“The Expendables” actor promised he was going to quit Twitter because he claims he can't use it without generating controversy.

He's referring to an online spat he had with fellow actor Bruce Willis last summer over some financial issues regarding Willis' role in the movie “The Expendables 3.”

At the time, Stallone went off on Willis because the actor had demanded more money for his four-day shoot.

This made Stallone call him greedy and lazy, and things took off from there into a full Twitter battle of the updates. Now, the 67-year-old actor says he is leaving social media for good, before he does more damage to his image.

“Every time I use social media I get really in trouble,” he said, adding that, “You've got to be really, really careful. You think you're a genius up there in the middle of the night and you wake up an idiot.”

Speaking on the matter, he credited Clooney, an actor who's also against social media for celebrities, with being right: “I think George Clooney said it best when he said you’ve got to be an idiot to be celebrity and use Twitter. You wake up in the morning when you’re sober and your career is over!.”

This hints that Stallone was under the influence when he made those accusations of Bruce Willis. He was the first to admit that “Perhaps I shouldn't have been so vocal with it,” after he sparked the conflict.

The “Rambo” actor is now preparing for the release of his third installment of the action franchise “The Expendables,” which features almost all famous action stars in Hollywood today, as well as a few from back in the old days. The movie is billed for release on August 15.
