Swype, the already popular virtual keyboard solution for touchscreen-enabled devices, is now available for download for even more Symbian^3-based mobile phones than before.

The software solution was included in the Ovi Store not too long ago with support for the Symbian^3-based Nokia C7, and can now be downloaded and installed on the Nokia N8, and Nokia C6-01 smartphones too.

In case there are some of you who do not know what Swype is all about, we should note that it is a new type of input for touchscreen-enabled devices, which reportedly provides increased speed and accuracy.

“Swype provides a faster and easier way to input text on any screen. With one continuous finger or stylus motion across the keyboard, Swype’s patented technology enables users to input words faster and easier than other input methods,” the application is described in the Ovi Store.

At the moment, the keyboard comes with support for English, Spanish, FrenchCA and PortugueseBr, but more languages should be added into the mix in the near future.

“To enable Swype, set your phone’s writing language to English. Then switch to your desired input language directly from the keyboard,” the description continues.

Previously, only Nokia C7 users were able to find the application available for download from the Ovi Store, though reports on its availability on the Nokia N8 also emerged, complemented by a direct download link to the software.

However, now the mobile application is officially available for all Nokia Symbian^3 device owners out there. All they need to do to get it is to search for it in the Ovi Store.

It might take some time before users learn how to use the application. After that, they would be able to type faster than before, Swype states.

While the application might not be too popular among Symbian users, it is already widely used on handsets running under Google's Android operating system.

In order to download Swype on their Symbian^3-based devices, Nokia users would have to head to Ovi Store here.
