Swype Beta for Android, the virtual keyboard that enables users to type much faster on the small screens of their mobile phones, has been recently updated to version 2.10.52.13753 with a nice range of enhancements.

According to the development team, there are some great improvements included in the new release, among which users will find some of the most requested features for the application, as well as a nice range of bug fixes.

One of the most important issues that was solved in the new release was an accuracy problem spotted in the last Beta update.

According to the development team, a series of features supporting additional languages were added in the release before they were tested properly, but all the issues were detected and corrected.

The release notes for Swype Beta for Android 2.10.52.13753 also includes:

- Added Double-Tap-to-Edit and Cursor Restore - Added microphone button (QWERTY only. Requires Google Voice Search be pre-integrated in your phone’s ROM) - Added French & EXPERIMENTAL Chinese Pinyin languages - Modified new word priority defaults. The word-choice-window will now be ordered more intelligently when encountering custom dictionary words - Fixed a bug where an extra space would be added when replacing a word by Swyping after opening the word choice window - Improved the "Hidden-Word" dialog handling so it doesn't show up as often (more improvements to this next time) - Improved prediction when handling various path collisions - Lots of minor bug fixes

At the same time, the development team notes that the Swype Installer was also updated, now with support for landscape screen orientation, and with a series of other enhancements too.

The new installer was designed to self-update when launched, if a newer version was available. According to the company, users won't have to uninstall and re-install the installer, but they would need to keep it on the device.

However, they do note that users would uninstall both the Swype Installer and Swype from their handsets before installing the new Swype Beta for Android.

The new application version is available for download from Softpedia too, via this link.
