A new flavor of the Swype Beta keyboard for Android devices is now available for download, namely version 1.4.9.13905, with some appealing enhancements packed inside, including Advanced Language Models for Hindi and Belgian Dutch.

The Beta flavor of the input application, which cannot be downloaded from the Google Play Store, was meant to deliver new features to users before a final flavor of the app was released, and the new update does exactly that.

The new release builds on the capabilities included in the application before, and also resolves some of the features that were found to affect user’s experience with it.

Furthermore, it adds some new capabilities as well, while also providing users with enhancements and performance improvements.

The release notes for the Android application include:

- Advanced Language Models added for Hindi and Belgian Dutch - Responsiveness for tap input improved for all languages - Improved overall Smart Editor behavior and implemented some bug fixes - Fixed a Gingerbread crash that occurred when rotating device into landscape mode - Fixed miscellaneous crashes reported by the Beta community - Fixed an issue where default Android voice input ('mic'/'microphone') icon displayed instead of Dragon logo - Changed subtype text in notification drawer to be more accurate - Word Choice List behavior improved in Polaris Office

Additionally, the new Swype Beta 1.4.9.13905 for Android arrives on devices with various other bug fixes and improvements, the team behind the application notes in a forum post.

As mentioned above, the app is not available for download through the Google Play store, but users will be able to grab it through the Swype Beta Installer, available for download via this page on Softpedia.

The Swype Beta application arrives with support for all devices running Android OS version 2.2 or later. It can be installed on handsets and tablets that have Swype pre-installed as well, through the Swype Beta Installer.
