Swype, the popular one-screen keyboard, is now available for download for Android smartphones that run under the latest version of the OS as well, namely Ice Cream Sandwich.

The team of developers behind the application announced a few weeks ago that it planned the release of this new software flavor.

Today, they made the new app release available for download, though only in a beta flavor for the time being.

The release notes for the new iteration of the app show that Android users, including those with 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich devices, can also enjoy Swype Add-ons with DragonGo.

Other enhancements in the new app include downloadable languages for tablets and a series of accuracy improvements.

At the moment, the only handsets with official Android Ice Cream Sandwich on them are the Galaxy Nexus and nexus S, but more of them should emerge before the end of this month, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
