Just as promised last week and again a few days ago, Swype has made available for download a new flavor of their application for Android-based devices, following the release of an exclusive flavor of the software on Sprint's Nexus S 4G handset.

The new application release, Swype Beta 3.25, comes along with appealing new features, accessible for all users who own devices running under flavors of Android following Android 1.6.

The company notes that their application comes with support for handsets that sport HVGA, WVGA, FWVGA, QVGA, WQVGA, WSVGA, and qHD screen sizes.

Swype also made their application available for Honeycomb-based tablet PCs that boast WXGA touchscreens, with various special features, including a “moveable keyboard” and more.

The main enhancements that the new application flavor comes on these mobile phones with include:

Gestures give you quick access to some of the most common tasks on your phone:

- Editing gestures (Cut/Copy/Paste/Select All) make maniuplating text a breeze

- Application gestures (Twitter/Google Maps/Facebook) let you send highlighted text directly to your favorite apps

Personal Dictionary Management lets you manage the words that you add to your Swype dictionary directly through the settings menu. Add, remove, and edit words through a browseable list. You can also completely reset your personal dictionary.

Those who would like to learn some more info on what gestures on Swype are all about should have a look at the video embedded at the bottom of this article.

Users should also keep in mind the fact that the Swype application collects usage data so that enhancements would be included in the future releases of the application.

The beta flavor of the software is not meant for handsets that were launched with Swype from the beginning, and the owners of such phones should not try to download and install the beta release. Additional info on the application can be found on the company's website here.
