The latest version brings lots of new features and improvements

Shortly after SwiftKey 4.3 made its way onto Google Play, Nuance announced its popular keyboard application Swype got an important update that adds lots of improvements, tweaks and bug fixes.

First of all, Indian users will be pleased to know the update brings support for four new Indian languages, such as Gujarati, Malayalam, Marathi and Telugu.

With the latest version of Swype, users will be able to take advantage of new features, including Bilingual keyboard, Split and Mini keyboards for phablets, Punctuation prediction, Combined secondary and tertiary menus, Search gesture and Accessibility support.

There also a new “Blackbird” theme and some bug fixes reported by users. It is also worth mentioning users will now be able to adjust long-press delay, vibration duration, keyboard height and layouts, as well as word list font size.

Last but not least, a few Dragon Dictation features have been added, such as phrase-based, real-time results and dictation language independent of keyboard language.

You can now download Swype for Android 1.6 for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind the application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.2 and up.
