The netbook market has seen some interesting designs over time, as PC vendors have tried to provide customers with some innovations in a segment that has been largely based on the same platform. Such is the case with Swordfish Net 102 Dual, which will apparently feature a rather interesting hardware configuration. Unlike the majority of Atom-based netbooks currently available on the market, this machine has adopted a dual
CPU design, incorporating two of Intel's low-power Atom N270 processors under the same chassis.

Although most might not be familiar with the brand, the Swordfish Net 102 Dual does have something going for it, namely an internal design that should provide users with a performance boost, when compared to other Atom-powered systems. The netbook is designed with a 10.2-inch display and pairs two of Intel's most successful Atom processors to date, the 1.6GHz N270. In addition, coming to deliver an impressive performance for a netbook, the system has been featured with 2GB of DDR2 RAM.

Moreover, the low-power, compact design of the Net 102 Dual also provides users with an optional WWAN module, a 1.3MP webcam and a screen resolution of 1024 by 600 pixels. Running on the old Windows XP operating system, the netbook has 160GB of storage space, available through the incorporated hard disk drive. According to the fellows over at Wired, the machine runs on a 3-cell battery pack, but the runtime of this system is yet to be established.

The design of the Swordfish Net 102 Dual seems to have taken into consideration Intel's terms for not putting the dual-core Atom 330 processor on portable computer systems, like a netbook. With two processors in the same machine, the Swordfish rig should deliver a performance similar to that of an Atom 330-based computer system.
