A referendum will be organized for Swiss people to vote on the minimum adult salary

The people of Switzerland have spoken, and they are asking for the minimum wage of a working adult to be $2,800 (€2,000).

The proposed minimum wage is much larger than the money that a fast-food worker in the US earns, which averages at about $1,500 (€1,100) per month. As a result, we might see residents of the States flocking to Switzerland.

The video above, posted about two weeks ago, shows a protest during which a truck of gold coins was unloaded in front of the Federal Square in the capital city of Bern.

The demonstration was put together by the Committee for the initiative "CHF 2,500 (roughly $2,800 / €2,000) monthly for everyone," RT writes.

The fact that an NGO could raise a truck full of gold coins shows that maybe Switzerland can afford it.

120,000 signatures have been gathered, and the parliament has to rule on the decision. According to Swiss law, if 100,000 signatures are collected, a referendum has to be organized.

However, there could be damage to the economy if the bill is passed, as it could drive out corporations. Tell me what you think about the initiative in the comments section.
