While DECT phones aren't exactly a hot topic in the age of digital communications and smartphones, the truth of the matter is that, from time to time, we happen to come across some that really manage to capture our interest, such as the ePure model from Swissvoice, that we'll talk about as follows.

The DECT phone comes equipped with a 1.4-inch backlit dot matrix display, as well as a detachable handset with a hands-free option, that operates in a low-radiation mode.

Despite of its rather simplistic design and look, the ePure is actually an advanced product, offering access to all sorts of cool and interesting features.

For example, it's got an alarm function for clock and appointments, adjustable ringer and loudspeaker volume (5 levels each), 10 HiFi ringer melodies (that can be easily de-activated, need-be), while the keypad can also be locked and the microphone muted during a conversation.

The device only features 1 access to analogue network and supports DTMF or pulse dialing, but allows users to expand the system to 5 handsets and 4 bases, while also letting them personalize handsets by assigning different handset names.

Furthermore, the ePure enables users to page the mislaid handsets in order to more easily locate them, and also delivers such functions as a 100-number directory and call management, including caller number and name indication, redial of the 10 last-dialed numbers and a call duration indication during a call, the latter feature being particularly important for cost management.

The handsets are operated by rechargeable batteries, that offer a talk time of up to 10 hours and a standby time of up to 150 hours, while their functioning range has been set at up to 300 meters outdoor and up to 50 meters indoor.

No details regarding the pricing and/or availability for the ePure DECT phone, but we certainly hope that it will be affordable enough, since it's got plenty of cool factor going for it.
