Microsoft has just started a war against dirt cheap Android tablets by offering Windows 8.1 to device manufacturers free of charge.

We have already seen a few super affordable tablets arrive into the wild, like the KingSing W8 I told you about a few days ago, which sells for only $99 / €73.

Well, the Android ecosystem is retaliating and driving prices even lower. In India, for example, customers looking to jump onboard the tablet family have the chance of picking up the Swipe Slice, a 7-inch tablet complete with voice calling capabilities that sells for a ridiculous $83 bucks (or €62) and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.

The specifications of the tablet are so low it might pain you to go through them. For starters, the slate has a 7-inch screen that comes with a primitive 800 x 480 pixel resolution. The powerhouse of the device is a dual-core MediaTek MT8312 processor clocked at 1.3GHz working in concert with Mali 400 GPU.

Other specifications include a lousy 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, microSD card (to expand to up to 32GB of storage), two cameras (0.3MP in front and 2MP on the back), 2G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 3000 mAh battery.

The tablet can be purchased with black, red, blue, yellow, or white paint jobs and can be ordered exclusively through Amazon.in.
