You won't need a full water cooling system if you buy it

All-in-one liquid coolers can be really useful because they're better than air coolers in every way, but they don't need your computer to have a water reservoir and pumps. They work all on their own, as Swiftech's latest invention shows.

Swiftech hasn't exactly released the H220X liquid cooling kit, but the product did show up at the Consumer Electronics Show, which took place in Las Vegas, Nevada last week.

And since CES always acts the part of a launching platform for various products, we can be certain that the H220X will come out sooner rather than later. In a few weeks maybe.

Keep in mind, though, that this isn't like all the other all-in-one liquid coolers on the market.

It's not a cooler, exactly, but a liquid cooling kit, because it's still you that will have to assemble the block, tubing and the radiator.

There's even a window that lets you check coolant flow and levels. Not exactly as high-tech as an LCD or e-paper indicator screen, but it will work just as well.

Better, even, because you won't ever have to worry that the internal sensors or display is defective. Not that it happens often, but a smaller chance for trouble is always good.

The H220X radiator is the central cog of the whole thing, since it integrated the reservoir and pumps, reducing the chances of leaks.

You even get a port at the top, which you can use to replace or replenish the coolant when it gets too low. Sure, the radiator/reservoir/pump doesn't leak, but the tubes and block might, over time.

Finally, you can install 120 or 140 mm fans on the radiator, alone or in pairs. Swiftech will actually provide three sizes for the radiator+pump+reservoir units: dual 120 mm (240 mm x 120 mm), single 140 mm (140 mm x 140 mm), and dual 140 mm (140 mm x 280 mm).

Unfortunately, Swiftech did not provide the price of the H220X liquid cooling kit, so we'll have to wait until online stores list that info, something that could take a while.
