The popular SwifKey keyboard application for Android devices has just received its first update since it went free earlier this month. The major update will be pushed to Android devices in stages, so it might not be available in all countries at the same time.

According to the developers, the main highlights of this update are the memory and speed improvements included, but lots of bug fixes will sure enhance user overall experience.

The official changelog mentions that the update addresses saving and alignment issues with heatmap and fixes some incorrect Polish language translations.

In addition, SwiftKey developers have confirmed that some improvements related to user interface and animation have been included in the update as well, along with better locations for in-app notifications.

A range of general bug fixes are also available in the update, but some specific issues have been mentioned in the changelog, such as the Facebook issues affecting most SwiftKey users, including the reuse of spaces and Android 2.2 page open problems.

The update is also said to fix an issue with Yahoo! personalization and a bug for bottom row being hidden on HTC EVO 4G LTE smartphones.

You can now download SwiftKey for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.2 and up.
