Following the release of a series of beta versions, SwiftKey has finally decided to make available for download a new stable flavor of its Android keyboard application, currently available for download as version 4.4.0.230.

The main enhancement included in the new release is the addition of Ice looks to the keyboard, courtesy of a new Holiday theme, designed specifically to ensure that communicating with friends is full of festive fun this Christmas.

At the same time, the updated application makes it easier for new users to get accustomed with what the application has to offer to them.

“Ice is a cool blue theme with snow-capped keys and snowflake ‘key pops’ every time you tap a letter. Flowing words brings a smattering of snow fall and an ice-themed background image completes the design,” SwiftKey notes in a blog post.

The new app release also resolves a series of issues that affected users’ experience in previous releases, such as a bug with punctuation where the symbols weren’t inserted in some situations.

Moreover, the new SwiftKey for Android 4.4.0.230 offers better performance capabilities when it comes to switching fields or after sending messages in some apps.

The new software iteration also fixes some Force Closes in the app, as well as an issue with the last column of the keyboard being cut on smileys layout.

The keyboard should insert text after an emoticon in Hangouts now, and should no longer open two instances of the Settings when tapping themes twice fast in the installer summary screen.

According to SwiftKey, the keyboard doesn’t hide the field when signing into Cloud anymore, and will no longer show notifications on Cloud screen during installation after upgrading to the newer release.

You can download SwiftKey for Android 4.4.0.230 from Softpedia today. The mobile application is compatible with all devices running under Android 2.2 or newer platform versions.
