New versions of the SwiftKey X and SwiftKey Tablet X applications for devices running under Google's Android operating system are now available for download, bringing along a new, more appealing touchscreen typing experience.

The new version 2.2 of these apps includes a faster, artificially intelligent language engine, and can deliver one of the best multi-touch keyboard implementation in the world, along with various changes on the UI side.

“This new version of SwiftKey continues to set the standard for phone and tablet communication. It has the most powerful language technology that's ever been engineered for typing on a touchscreen, coupled with a smooth and polished user interface and an ever-growing suite of great features,” the team behind the app notes.

The new release of SwiftKey X and SwiftKey Tablet X v2.2 brings along support for more languages, being capable of delivering an end-to-end SwiftKey experience to users who primarily communicate in Spanish, French, Italian and German, in addition to English.

Overall, the app comes with support for a number of 35 languages, so that users can enjoy everything from Afrikaans to Ukrainian, with Arabic and Hebrew being the latest languages added into the mix.

The release notes for the new app release includes:

- Full language localization for major European languages - Typing support extended to 35 languages, including Arabic and Hebrew - New multi-touch framework for faster typing - Prediction/correction boosted by faster, more efficient Fluency engine - Full support for Android 4.0 operating system (Ice Cream Sandwich) - UX enhancements, including better settings menu, alternative character selection and sharing features.

SwiftKey also sports a multi-touch framework that can deliver one of the fastest speed typing and accuracy that any other touch keyboard can offer.

Moreover, the company has been hard at work with enhancing SwiftKey's corrections and predictions, so that they are both faster and more efficient at the same time.

And there are also a series of UI polishes that should make the experience users receive from the application even better than before, including the ability to adjust keys in both portrait and landscape, or full support for Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
