14 DAY TRIAL // SwiftKey, the company behind one of the popular onscreen keyboard for the Android operating system, has just announced updated versions of its SwiftKey X Keyboard applications in the Android Market.
We’re referring here to the SwiftKey X Keyboard and SwiftKey X Keyboard apps available for all Android devices running under platform version 2.1 or newer.
The latest version of these apps is 2.2.0.159, and brings along improved language models with conversational data, for better predictions and corrections while messaging.
The new app iteration builds on the enhancements that the previous SwiftKey X Keyboard 2.2 included, such as support for 35 languages, a faster language engine, and a series of UX enhancements.
“Today’s update brings you new and improved language models, which focus more on the informal, chatty style of communication that people use when typing on their phones,” the company explains in a blog post.
“These “conversational models” should make your predictions and corrections even more spookily accurate,” the company continues.
Users who upgrade SwiftKey to the latest available version should also ensure that they are using the most up-to-date language models by going to Settings > Languages & layouts. There, they will need to press the Menu button and to choose “Update languages.”
SwiftKey also announced that they are celebrating a number of no less than one million personalizations to date.
“When you personalize SwiftKey using your Facebook posts, Twitter tweets, Gmail emails or your blog posts, SwiftKey creates a truly personal language model based on the words and phrases that you use, so the predictions and corrections that it provides are unique to you. To personalize go to Settings > Personalization,” the company notes.
At the same time, they announced a price cut for bot SwiftKey X and SwiftKey Tablet X for this weekend. The applications are available for 25 percent less than before. Both of them can be found in the Android Market now.
