Unlike other word prediction technologies, which are usually based on word lists, SwiftKey uses complex language models that understand how words are combined within sentences.

The technology behind SwiftKey is called the Fluency Prediction Engine and it draws on recent breakthroughs in Natural Language Processing from the University of Cambridge. It seems that the new technology provides the best text prediction experience on the market.
