A new flavor of the SwiftKey keyboard application is now available for download for the owners of Android-based devices, namely version 4.3.1.

Starting with this release, users will be able to set the numpad to be shown either on the left or the right side on the secondary layout, which should prove a great feature for left-handed users.

Moreover, the new software version arrives on shelves with a fix for the loss of personal language, an issue that many users have been complaining about, it seems.

“If your personal language has previously been lost the best thing to do to restore personalized predictions is to go to Settings – SwiftKey Cloud, sign in and personalize from your SMS and Gmail, Facebook, or Twitter,” the development team notes.

Additionally, the new flavor of the application brings back the missing dollar sign, and also enables users to access a range of currency symbols through pressing and holding on the letter X.

The same is possible when going to the numbers layout, which can be accessed via the 123 key, or to the symbols layout, accessible through the 123 key then the {&= key.

Another change in the new update is related to the spacebar sounds when the sounds are on, which are different to the other keys.

Following the update, users with Android tablets will see that the extended layout on their devices now works properly.

A series of other fixes were included in this update as well, such as restored missing bottom row in Russian and Thai layouts, restored predictions in right-to-left languages (e.g. Hebrew, Arabic), and backspacing on a flowed word at the beginning of a message now works.

Furthermore, the release notes for the application unveil that pitch theme no longer shows white background when flowing.

There are also fixes for problems with entering names in Google+, along with a fix for a problem with entering money amounts on Google Drive, and an issue with flowing long words sometimes got “stuck” has been resolved.

The latest flavor of the SwiftKey for Android application can be found on Softpedia as well.
