14 DAY TRIAL // A new beta build of SwiftKey for Android devices is now available for download. Dubbed SwiftKey 3, the keyboard app is only accessible to SwiftKey's more than 30,000 VIP users.
The application comes with several new features, including Smart Space, Themes, new punctuation functionality, additional languages, as well as improved backup and auto-correction.
Smart Space is some sort of new auto-correction technology that adds to SwiftKey's already exceptionally good correction by detecting miss-typed words as well as omitted spaces.
The innovative technology can search across whole phrases of poorly typed text in real-time, so users won’t have to fear about miss-types while on the move anymore.
With Smart Space, SwiftKey's developers claim that the company is now offering “the most accurate and complete auto-correction available on a smartphone or tablet.”
The team behind the keyboard application also included two new themes that were the most popular among the SwiftKey’s VIP community. There is a new theme 'Cobalt', which matches the application’s new look and feel, and an Ice Cream Sandwich-flavored 'Holo' theme.
Several visual improvements have been added as well. According to SwiftKey, the user interface has been enhanced and now has a much larger space bar and smart punctuation key, which allow for better accuracy. These improvements also help users get quicker access to common punctuation.
Support for additional languages is included as well. The following languages have been added, bringing the total up to 42: Korean, Estonian, Farsi, Icelandic, Latvian, Lithuanian and Serbian.
There is also a new language-specific punctuation functionality that handles the punctuation for different languages that are supported by the application.
Apart from these changes and improvements, SwiftKey 3 includes core improvements, including “backup of learned language data and improved options for users to customize auto-correction features.”
