The News of the World (NOTW) phone hacking trial continues. The court has been told that the now defunct tabloid hacked into the phone of Sven-Goran Eriksson, the former England football coach, between around 2001 and 2006.

Voice mail recordings were found in 2006 at the residence of Glenn Mulcaire, the private investigator hired by NOTW.

According to the Express, several stories were published based on information obtained from Eriksson’s phone, including ones about his love life.

It’s worth noting that NOTW is not the only publication involved in the phone hacking case. Since recently, the phone hacking scandal includes Trinity Mirror, the publisher of the Daily Mirror and the Sunday Mirror.

The Guardian reports that Eriksson and three others have filed a lawsuit against Trinity. The company tried to convince a judge to dismiss the lawsuits. However, the judge has allowed for the trial to continue.
