After the smashing success that her debut album, “I Dreamed a Dream,” was, Susan Boyle will be releasing a Christmas album at the end of the year. Though she’s yet to start recording for the material, millions have already showed their interest in it, which virtually poises it as one of the biggest, record breaking releases to come this year, the
Mirror says.
The Scottish singer who first rose to fame when she auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent and then inspired the creation of a fanbase comprising millions of people from around the world, of all ages and musical preferences, continues to remain in high demand. Despite what some said earlier on (BGT judge
Amanda Holden being one of them) that Susan was just a one-hit wonder with no longevity in the industry, early numbers indicate that actually the contrary goes.
“Susan Boyle’s second album is being tipped for this year’s Christmas Number 1 – before she’s even recorded it. Amazon has been besieged with more than two million requests in two weeks for the sequel to I Dreamed A Dream. SuBo’s second album is set to become the biggest CD pre-order in the online retailer’s history,” the Mirror writes. Again, for more emphasis, we’re talking about an album that will be released in December most likely and which, as of now (April), has not even been recorded.
“We haven’t seen this before. It’s seven months ahead of the release and already people are putting in requests for pre-sales. It’s an incredible achievement already,” says an insider for the same publication. A spokesperson for the Scottish singing sensation remains coy about the release, though notably optimistic. “We are certain it will make the Xmas No 1 spot. It’s not often you can say that in April,” the rep states for the same tab.
Earlier on, Susan was saying that she had high hopes that she’d make her second album “better and a bit extra special.” Because of heavy fan request, Amazon was literally forced to set up an extra page, which allows fans the option to pre-order the album as early as now.
