The much-expected performance of “Hairy Angel” Susan Boyle on Britain’s Got Talent finally took place and, as millions of fans over the world were waiting for, it did not disappoint in the least bit. A visibly nervous Susan took the stage last night to perform “Memory” from “Cats” and stunned the audience with her impressive vocal range and clarity – so much so that she even won a spot in the final of the popular competition, as People magazine can confirm.

It was clear that the people in the audience had come specifically to hear Susan sing, since most of them could hardly stop cheering when she took the stage. However, it was at the end that they got to fully express their appreciation, with the entire crowd, including the three members of the panel of judges, getting up for a prolonged standing ovation. Even Simon Cowell, usually the more reserved of the judges, was adamant to let Susan know what he really thought of her, and how sorry he was for being prejudiced when they first met.

“You are one special lady, I have to say, you really are. You know what, I just want to apologize because of the way we treated you before you sang the first time. You made me and everyone else look very stupid and I’m very happy for you, very proud for you.” Cowell told Susan Boyle after her performance. Clearly, he was not the only one to think so little of Susan when she first emerged on the stage of the show – but he was, by all means, the first to admit he was wrong in doing so.

Next step for Susan is the show’s grand finale, which will take place on Saturday. It is not yet known what she’ll be singing, but whatever it is, it will have to top the performances of the other finalists. Should determination be any indication of success, several British media outlets are pointing out, then Susan Boyle has what it takes to win the competition and get to see her dream come true, while also becoming a bona fide recording artist.

“All my life I’ve driven to prove myself. That I’m not just this little woman from Scotland. I just want that chance to perform in front of the Queen.” Susan told the audience at the end of the performance. As for feeling any pressure about doing the show, Susan said there was none. “It was absolutely unbelievable. What pressure! It was really good tonight. I’ve enjoyed every second. And I’d do it again.” she said, before adding “Piersy baby!”
