Amanda Holden, the no-nonsense judge on Britain’s Got Talent, believes Susan Boyle’s 15 minutes of fame on the popular talent competition are almost up, as she reveals in a new interview for News of the World. Still, Holden says, it’s not because of the “Hairy Angel” that she will soon slip out of favor of the public, but rather because audiences today tend to be fickle and in a hurry to find new things to get their attention.

Speaking with the British tab, Holden says that Boyle will probably underwhelm with her next performances, hinting that she will be brought down from the pedestal the public put her on with her first appearance on the show. Still, that’s not to say that Boyle won’t move on to greater things, since Simon Cowell has already expressed his intentions of turning her into a recording artist and, if anything, he is a man of his word. But chances of Boyle winning Britain’s Got Talent are slim to none, Holden believes.

“She’ll be an instant international superstar – but I don’t think she’ll have longevity. She could nail it or kill it on the night. She might not be as good as she was on that first night and people put that performance on a pedestal. I think it can go either way. We’ve built her up and the public could go, ‘She’s too big for her boots, she’s too cocky.’ She isn’t. But we don’t like too much success. It’s a shame. But she’s got the Scottish vote and I think the British public are still very much on her side.” Holden says for News of the World.

However, the judge underlines, with Susan Boyle, it shouldn’t be as much about winning the competition as it should about her making music. With a voice like hers, she should focus on launching her career with Cowell because it would be a shame if the world missed out on such extraordinary talent. Being a superstar is not really important, as it is to build a reputation for herself as a solid performer, Holden further explains.

“Whether she wins or not, she’s going to have a record contract with Simon and go on to greater things. Simon’s team can’t show bias so there is no way she has been anywhere near a studio yet. After the show there won’t be any time taken to record her album – there can’t be. They need to get her into a studio straight after the show and get that bloody thing out. But this world is fickle. We pick people up and spit them out just as quick. We move on very fast. But who cares? She won’t. This is more than she ever dreamed of anyway.” the outspoken Britain’s Got Talent judge adds.

As of now, Susan Boyle has made it into the final of the show. Whether she wins or not will be determined this Saturday, so keep an eye on this space for more.
