No, it has nothing to do with the TV Show, but the goal of the game is the same, survive as long as you can. Waves: Survivor is the first game released by independent developer Renown Entertainment and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad devices.

The story of the game follows hero Johnny Calm, who has to survive the dangers of being lost at sea. You are left with only a paddle and a bucket in your rowboat to battle deadly sea creatures and escape the huge waves, just to survive one more day.

Lucky you that the mermaids like you enough to help you collect deep-sea treasures, big combos to score, as well as a special power up that will extend your life.

Waves: Survivor is the first project of the team at Renown, which was intended to combine old school game play with new school technology, like water physics.

This will probably offer players a unique perspective and experience while playing the game. Waves: Survivor also offers players the possibility to play, just to beat their own score, or they can compete against friends.

Either it can become addictive or not, it all depends of your taste. The developer of the game hopes that gamers will have as much fun playing it as they did creating it.

Further, Renown company has enlisted guest stars Carolina Stephanie and Alicia Meek to provide the look and voice acting for the mermaids, as well as Hollywood composer Jason Livesay, who wrote the music for the game.

Waves: Survivor features leaderboards (via Facebook and Twitter), interactive water physics, continuous survival gameplay, touch and accelerometer controls, collectible items and much more.

The game is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices running iOS 3.0 or higher, and requires 27.8 MB storage space. The game is now available for US $1.99 on the Apple AppStore.
