A UK woman is so addicted to pregnancy that she decided to act as a surrogate mother for others for free. Tara Sawyer from Wimblington, Cambridgeshire, has so far given birth to seven children – four of whom are her own – and vows she won’t stop being pregnant until her “womb falls out.”

The 37-year-old woman says she is happiest when she is pregnant, and feels “empty” when she is not expecting. However, she explains that she feels broody for pregnancy, not for a baby.

“I’m addicted to the buzz of pregnancy and so if I can help childless couples it would be insane not to,” she says. “I won’t stop until my womb falls out.”

Tara, who is mom to Rebecca, 14, Harrison, 12, and twin boys Jack and Noah, 4, says she started craving pregnancy after giving birth to her twin sons by caesarean section. She began feeling “deprived” of pregnancy when the boys were still newborns, so she decided to lend out her womb to strangers who could not conceive.

And although surrogacy laws state that she is entitled to £15,000 ($25,200/€18,400) in expenses, Tara refuses to accept any payment because she does it for the “thrill.”

In the past two years, Tara acted as a surrogate for two couples, according to Parentdish. Interestingly enough, the first baby she handed over was born two years ago and was biologically her daughter, but Tara didn't feel any maternal love for the newborn. On that occasion, she donated her own eggs to a gay couple who desperately wanted a baby and artificially inseminated herself at her home.

And she also carried twins for a couple who were unable to have children.

“Surrogacy is very addictive. It’s a huge rush from the moment the test comes back positive. It's an amazing feeling to hand over a child to someone who desperately wants it, and I feel at my best whilst pregnant,” Tara confesses.

Perhaps the fact that she was adopted as a child could somehow explain why her addiction is so powerful. She says she wants to give parents like hers the opportunity to have a family, so she started planning her next pregnancy immediately after giving birth to twin boys in January.

Surprisingly, her husband Matt Sawyer was supportive of her decision to carry strangers' children.

Tara has already been talking to another gay couple and hopes to be pregnant again by the end of the year.
