The People magazine reports that Angela Basset is expecting twins through a surrogate mother.
According to the source quoted by the publication, the babies are due "in a couple of months". The actress' publicist made no comment though.
Basset, 47, met her husband Vance, 45, many years before they first went out together in 1996. One year later they were becoming engaged.
They could be seen this summer (in July) playing together in John Guare's rendition of "His Girl Friday" at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.
Vance's feature-film roles have won him steady praise. His early credits include "Hamburger Hill," "The Hunt for Red October" and "The Last Supper." More recently, he appeared in Robert Altman's "Cookie's Fortune," Penny Marshall's "Preacher's Wife" and in Clint Eastwood's "Space Cowboys." He also starred in the independent film "Love and Action in Chicago," a romantic comedy which he also co-produced, according to wikipedia.org.
As for Angela Bassett, the star of "How Stella Got Her Groove" and "What's Love Got to Do With It", she is to be seen next in the film "Akeelah and the Bee", opposite Laurence Fishburne, who had previously been her partner in the "Boyz N the Hood" movie.
