Suri Dresses Me All the Time, Katie Holmes Tells Elle

Ever since she was 2 and a half, Katie Holmes has been talking about daughter Suri’s innate fashion sense. The child continues to be the same fashionista in the making, even being able to dispense advice to her much more fashion-savvy mom.

Katie Holmes, wife of Tom Cruise and daughter to Suri, is featured in the latest issue of Elle magazine and, in between promoting the upcoming documentary / mini-series “The Kennedys” and talking about herself, she also finds some time to praise Suri’s fashion sense.

In this respect, Suri is much older than her years, Katie dishes. Not only does she pick outfits for herself, but she also lends a hand to her mother, even at those times when she doesn’t necessarily care to hear her opinion.

Moreover, Suri is an instinctual shopper and fashionista, the kind one rarely finds these days, Katie explains.

“The other day we came out of a store, and she said, ‘I want to go there,’ pointing at another store quite a distance away. In that store was the dress that she wanted,” the actress explains.

“I said, ‘Wow, Suri. You’re something. You picked that out from a football field away’,” she adds. For those not keeping tabs, Suri Cruise only turns 5 in April this year.

Still, that’s not stopping her from giving pointers to her mom, even when she doesn’t know she needs them.

“She’ll really tell me [what she thinks]. Like today I’m wearing brown suede pants, and she said, ‘I don’t like your pants’,” Katie reveals in the same interview with Elle.

“But then she’ll say, ‘You’ve got to wear these shoes.’ Or ‘That’s so pretty, Mom. Wear that.’ She’s got a great eye,” the 32-year-old actress says, with understandable maternal pride.

Seeing how the media crowned Suri the youngest celebrity fashionista ever when she was just 3, it probably comes as little surprise that she’s now able to help her mother out with picking outfits for media interviews.
