Suri Cruise, the baby over whom the entire world has been talking about for the past four months, is finally 'out'. The black-haired baby made her debut during Katie Couric's first appearance as anchorwoman for the CBS Evening News. Couric had a special surprise for viewers last night, when she revealed the cover photo of 'Vanity Fair', featuring the proud parents, Tom and Katie and their own bundle of joy.

The issue of the magazine will hit stands today in New York and Los Angeles, and on September 12th for the rest of the US. Besides the photos of the wonder-child, it also includes an interview with Tom and Katie who, for the first time since Suri's birth, take a stand and openly speak about the way that much gossip and speculation affected their lives.

The pictures of Suri were shot in Telluride, at Tom's house, on July 27th. Annie Leibovitz, the celebrity photographer, was personally picked by the couple for being 'the only professional photographer who ever shot Bella and Connor as children', as Katie explained in the interview.

Holmes said that all the nasty things that got printed in the press about her child became really frustrating as, obviously, neither she nor Tom were trying to hide anything. 'It's really frustrating the amount of s**t that's out there. And the stuff they say about Suri? You shouldn't say that about us, you can't say that about my child', the actress said. Cruise added: 'We were always going to release a photo. We weren't trying to hide anything'.

The two go on to share their opinion regarding whom the baby looks more like: 'She has Katie's lips and eyes. I think she looks like Katie', says Tom, only to be contradicted by the young mother, 'I think she has Tom's eyes. I think she looks like Tom'.

Holmes admits that all the rumors have and continue to affect her, but her family still comes first. '[Gossip] eats away at me because it's just not OK. [But] this is my future. This is my family, and I care so much about them. To see how someone as caring and good as Tom is - to see how things can just get so twisted and turned around. I mean, where does it come from?', she rhetorically asks.
