It’s no surprise that Microsoft is struggling to expand international availability of the Surface RT, so the company is now planning to launch its first tablet in history in Japan.

According to a report by MarketWatch, the Surface RT is projected to go on sale in Japan in just a few weeks, even though Microsoft executives are yet to make this move public.

While all eyes are on the Surface Pro, the upgraded version of the tablet that runs the full version of Windows 8, Surface RT will be soon introduced in some new markets, as Japan appears to be just one of the countries that’ll get it in the coming weeks.

We’re still waiting for a word from Microsoft on this, so we’ll update the story when we get more information.
