14 DAY TRIAL // The Surface 3 tablet was presented only a few days ago, and anyone can pre-order the device right now, but unfortunately for those who cannot wait any longer to get their hands on one, this won't happen anytime soon.
Surface 3 shipments will start in early May, so until now all we have is official information from Microsoft. Including a short glimpse into the components that are hiding under the hood of the tablet.
Luckily, Microsoft showcased a torn-down Surface 3 during a private event after the official unveiling earlier this week, providing us with a quick look at one of the most important improvements for the new model: the battery.
As you can see in this screenshot made from a YouTube video, the Surface 3 comes with a gigantic battery, which, according to Microsoft, should be enough for 10 hours of continuous use.
No battery information
It's pretty clear that Microsoft tried to improve the Surface 3 in a way that would provide users with better autonomy, but surprisingly, the company hasn’t offered any clear specs for the battery that's installed under the hood of the new tablet model.
All it says is that the battery provides 10 hours of autonomy, adding the following:
"Testing conducted by Microsoft in March 2015 using 128 & 64 GB units with 4 GB RAM. Testing consisted of full battery discharge during video playback. All settings were default except: Wi-Fi was associated with a network and Auto-Brightness disabled. Battery life varies significantly with settings, usage, and other factors."
Obviously, real-time figures are not yet available, given the fact that the Surface 3 is not yet up for purchase, but more information on this should be provided in the coming weeks.
