If you have always thought that a boxing career would be the best thing for you, but you were afraid to enter training sessions and compete just because some big bad fellas were there, ready to punch you, the virtual world of a game has, once again, the solution to your problem. In this case, it is called Supreme Boxing and it's a MMO game which allows you not only to fight against people from all over the world, but also turn yourself into a rich, spoiled superstar. Now, don't tell me it doesn't sound really exciting!

The title, developed by Gamejam, has just come out of the beta tests where the 8,000 people involved were left asking for more (and they got it with the game feel - at least a few punches). The official word tells us that Supreme Boxing is a MMO boxing simulation with RPG elements that allows players to create and build boxers who will compete with others across different weights and regions in their quest to climb the rankings and become number one in the world. Players can develop their boxing skills in tournaments and training, they can join boxing clubs and fight other boxers in either "friendlier" or professional matches.

"Our intention with Supreme Boxing is to accurately represent the rivalry and competition of the boxing world as they battle for titles, reputation, fame and fortune," said Gamejam's Director Dave Bird, also stating that some key features introduced in the game (however, he did not detail them) completely put players under a spell.

The role playing part of the game allows users, as they grow in rank and reputation, to buy houses, luxuries and special items, or channel resources into their boxer's professional development. The user may choose to build his skills in a role-playing style that will, in turn, improve the in-game skills of the character. The only drawback we see at the moment (which will probably be solved in the future) is the lack of female characters - just three, compared to the 30 male boxers. It's a man's world, we know from James Brown, but Neneh Cherry (and everybody else) believes that we are equal. Check out YouTube if you have no idea what I'm talking about.
