14 DAY TRIAL // Supermodel Heidi Klum has made the news with her recent split from bodyguard boyfriend Martin Kirsten. People confirms that the two have decided to split up after dating exclusively for almost one year and a half.
Before this, Heidi was married to singer Seal for a couple of years but ended up filing for divorce in January 2012. Just months after the divorce was finalized, Klum, 40, started a relationship with Martin Kirsten, 41, who was, at the time, acting out as her bodyguard.
Their are said to have broken their romance several months ago, a fact which has also led them to end their professional collaboration. A source close to the couple said that “Martin was there for her during a challenging time in her life and it was something she will always be grateful for.”
One of the reasons Heidi fell for Martin was, in her own words, because “He's been helping me for four years now, and he takes wonderful care of the kids. He plays with them, he protects them. I trust him.”
It looks like Martin was the sympathetic shoulder after her divorce from Seal, but now, after one year, things have changed. The same source claims that they are still friends despite their split, “He was incredibly supportive and they were there for each other, but they're moving on now. They still have a great friendship.”
The German model recently shocked TV viewers when she kissed Jay Leno live on The Tonight Show. Heidi wanted to express her sadness at the fact that Leno is going to be replaced as a host by Jimmy Fallon and kissed the aging Leno once on the mouth and twice on the cheeks, much to his surprise.
She even posted a tweet expressing her love for the talk show host that has granted her 24 live appearances over the years on The Tonight Show. Jay Leno will be making his final appearance as a host on February 6.
