PCs that fit in the palm of your hand are really becoming less and less odd as time goes by. ECS has just made its contribution to this scene, by releasing the LIVA White Edition 64 GB mini PC.

The LIVA Mini PC Kit by Elitegroup Computer Systems was actually released way back in April and got a fair few awards, as well as love from the general public.

With a name derived from “Living” and “Viva,” the palm-sized PC is essentially the smallest Windows-Based Mini PC kit. That's what ECS claims anyhow.

Even if there is a Windows computer out there that could give it a run for its money in that area (Maingear's Spark comes to mind), it's always going to be a close comparison. And ECS' invention does indeed seem smaller.

The new LIVA White Edition 64 GB doesn't just bring a new color to the mix (white instead of black), but it uses 64 GB of eMMC storage as well (it comes with 32 GB as well).

The rest of the system is the same Bay Trail-M SoC-based hardware setup: 2 GB DDR3L, Realtek RTL8111G LAN, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n + Bluetooth 4.0 (via NGFF add-in card), combo audio jack, HDMI, VGA, USB 3.0 (1 port each) and a fanless heatsink. Windows 8.1 runs everything.

All in all, it should be able to play a variety of roles, like HTPC, industrial PC, secondary PC, office PC, etc.
