The forth release candidate for Manjaro Openbox 0.8.9 has been released and it's probably the last one in the series.

Manjaro Openbox 0.8.9 RC4 is a Linux distribution based on well-tested snapshots of the Arch Linux repositories and 100% compatible with Arch. Manjaro has slowly become one of the best Arch-based distributions, and the Openbox flavor is powering on with yet another Release Candidate. This is probably the last development in the series, if all goes well.

“We decided to downgrade back to Xorg-Server 1.14.5 to fix some issues we had with our current xorg-stack last week. Same as our XFCE 0.8.9-RC3 is this install media based on our unstable branch. Don’t be scared about this fact. We already merged those packages to testing. After final tests those packages will be moved to our stable branch.

Openbox and Turbulence now keep their backgrounds in /usr/share/backgrounds. The issue with Thunar in Turbulence is fixed. Please test this release candidate on your real hardware and report back any issues you may have.,” say the developers on the Manjaro blog.

Other features of Manjaro Openbox 0.8.9 RC4 are Linux kernel 3.10.30, xorg-server 1.14.5, the new Turbulence tool, multiple desktops, and new wallpapers.

Turbulence is the first thing a user sees when starting the new operating system, and features a nice gray graphical layout, and allows users to customize the distribution.

The Turbulence tool can be used select which wallpaper they want (works on KDE and Openbox), permits the users to choose where to place the tint2 panel, and can easily choose which folders are appropriate for the Home directory.

More details about this release, including new features, various updates, and important changes can be found in the official announcement. Download Manjaro Openbox 0.8.9 RC4 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
