Yesterday, a leaked Android 4.4.2 KitKat test build emerged online for the owners of Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones, breaking SuperSU due to a series of changes in the platform.

However, Chainfire was fast on releasing an update to SuperSU, and version 1.89 is now available for download to resolve the compatibility issues.

Those interested in giving it a try will find the custom recovery flashable ZIP available via this link. An updated version of CF-Auto-Root, with the new SuperSU included, is also up for grabs.

The updated app might not be pushed to the Google Play Store, given that it only brings support for Galaxy S4 with Android 4.4, and that there’s only one leaked ROM available for the smartphone.

For those out of the loop, we should note that said leaked build features firmware version I9505XXUFNA1, compatible with the international Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505).
