While most any flash drive, even the more common ones, are designed by their makers to be appealing in their own way, Super Talent decided it was time to meet the requirements of the more extravagant population, so it used quite a bit of gold in the making of its new product.

What Super Talent came up with is a new member for the Pico-C family of flash drives, one that bears the name of Special Edition.

Of course, there have been a lot of Special Edition-type product releases over the years, but Super Talent genuinely did go a step above most in making it truly unique.

What occurred was that a new flash drive was created, one whose enclosure is plated with solid gold of 24k.

The newcomer measures 31.3 x 12.4 x 3.4 mm and operates on the USB 2.0 interface, though there is, of course, backwards compatibility with the USB 1.1 standard.

The read and write speeds available are of up to 30 MB/s and 15 MB/s, respectively, while the actual internal storage capacity is of 64 GB.

Furthermore, the product is rugged and water-resistant and has already had its product page added to its maker's official website.

"The Special Edition Pico-C is a testament to the fact that big things can come in small packages,” said Super Talent COO, CH Lee.

“We've taken our most popular flash drive, the Pico-C, to the next level by upping its capacity to an incredible 64GB, speed rating it and celebrating it with a 24K gold finish," Lee added.

Those interested in owning an entrancing, solid gold, portable storage solution will have to part with 172 Euro in order to purchase it.

Unfortunately, the 64GB Pico-C Special Edition has not yet started shipping, although pre-orders can, at least, be made.
