Essentially, they are PCIe cards with SSDs and HDDs fused on them

Most hybrid storage devices usually try to look like one or the other, and PCI Express storage devices don't even bother to look in any way different, in essence, from what all other add-in boards appear as.

Super Talent has just launched a really bizarre product line though.

Long story short, the Super Hybrid drive series is a line of PCI Express cards that each have an SSD and an HDD fused to them.

One of them has a combined capacity of 1.2 TB (PP4192C12H), while the other is a 2.2 TB drive (PP4192C23H).

The sequential read and write speed can go as high as 800 MB/s. The SSD cache is of 192 GB, hence the speed.

NAS and server installations will find great uses for the newcomers, but desktop users can have a blast as well.

Sadly, pricing and availability details remain unknown.
