Solid-state drives don't only come in 2.5-inch SATA and PCI Express board forms. They can have mSATA sizes too, and even smaller, as shown by the latest Super Talent model.

The new SSD from Super Talent is called Super Talent PCIe DX1 and communicates over the PCI Express Gen2 interface.

It's made for mobile products though, and should work very well in servers too, thanks to the NGFF form factor.

Physically, it measures 22.0 0mm x 80.00 mm x 3.5 mm / 0.86 x 3.14 x 0.13 inches.

Spec-wise, it brings 32 GB to 256 GB capacity, 128 MB cache memory (speedy app load time), high reliability and, of course, high transfer speeds: up to 406 MB/s through a single lane.

Sadly, Super Talent didn't say how much the Super Talent PCIe DX1 SSD cost.
