Lately, flash memory solutions manufacturer Super Talent has made quite a few interesting announcements, related mostly to solid-state drives (SSDs). However, the company's not ignoring its flash drive business, either, and introduced a new series of such devices, dubbed Luxio, which combines a very attractive external design with extremely large storage capacities (up to 64 GB, to be more precise).

Indeed, luxury is pretty much the first thing that comes to mind when setting one's eyes on the Luxio. And that's because the drives are housed in a sleek 21 x 76 x 10 mm UV coated ABS/PC case with chrome plated zinc trim and offered in three different colors: black, silver and wood grain. Moreover, in order to further enhance the sense of luxury, the Luxio drives are packaged in an elegant gift box, which also includes a custom-made black leather carrying case.

However, there's more to the drives from Luxio than a shiny and eye-catching external casing. Thus, they are available in three different storage versions, being able to provide either 16, 32 or 64 GB of storage space. The memory itself features dual channel flash memory architecture, the drive supporting AES-256 hardware encryption, as well as password protection.

"We designed the Luxio to be elegant yet simple, huge in storage capacity yet small in stature, loaded with features and accessories yet sleek enough to put on a keychain. The Luxio is much more than just a high capacity USB drive," commented Super Talent Director of Marketing, Joe James. "With big drives we know that speed is also vital. Luxio drives support extremely fast 200X-plus transfer rates," Mr. James added.

Despite the fact that we're talking about some pretty elegant devices, Super Talent's Luxio USB flash drives aren't particularly expensive, the top-range 64 GB version selling for an estimate 150 US dollars.
