Super Talent is generally known for its enthusiast oriented DDR modules. And because of that, many people seem to forget that they also produce ECC DIMMS and Fully Buffered DIMMS especially designed for server use. And after months of new releases only regarding the value
segment, Super Talent is back with two new products.

First we have the 2GB DDR2-667 ECC Registered Ram. Coming next is the 2GB DDR2-667 FB-DIMM (stands for fully buffered DIMMs, sticks which are being used only on new Xeon platforms at the moment). The modules are entering a really tough market with Corsair announcing its 2GB DDR2-667 FB-DIMMs at almost the same time.

The new 2GB DDR2-667 ECC Registered DIMMs have been tested and then certified by Supermicro for use in eight-way server motherboard families such as the AMD Opteron dual-core 8-way line. These modules come with CMTL certification and the same can be said about their fully buffered brothers, the 2GB DDR2-667 FB-DIMM sticks. We don't know much about the certification but it is said to involve vigorous testing in multitasking environment.

Regarding these two new products, CH Lee, VP of Business Operations for Super Talent said: "These products demonstrate Super Talent's leadership in developing high reliability server memory, and also our commitment to work with industry leading motherboard manufacturers on product validation testing. Both these modules have already passed our own rigorous in-house qualification testing in addition to earning Supermicro's seal of approval. Super Talent server memory delivers the best reliability, compatibility, and consistency in the industry".

Super Talent 2GB DDR2-667 ECC Registered and DDR2-667 FB-DIMMs are available right from the moment they reach the suppliers with an expected price of $350.
