While Eurocom is boasting of having broken the 24GB barrier as far as laptops go, Super Talent claims to have become the first supplier of 24GB triple-channel memory operating at the high frequency of 2000 MHz.

Super Talent has just issued a press release in which it states that it has become the first company to manufacture 24 GB triple-channel DDR3 memory kits with a clock speed of 2000 MHz.

Granted, G.Skill was the first to actually announce that it was working on such a product, but has yet to actually begin mass-producing it.

The main issue with large-capacity kits is that they can't easily allow the DRAM bus to be “fully loaded” and still manage overclocking feats.

The new kit does not have any issues with running at 2,000 MHz and is composed of six modules, each with a capacity of 4 GB, obviously. Every module has a CL9 latency and runs on a current of 1.65V.

The kit is expected to be used by creative professionals and extreme gaming enthusiasts alike, who will no longer have to choose between capacity and speed at the cost of the other.

“As memory technology continues to move forward Super Talent will continue to push the limits of what is possible and deliver the fastest solutions available.” said SuperTalent COO, CH Lee.

The developer of third-generation, double data rate random access memory tested the newcomer on the ASUS rampage 3 Extreme motherboard, which ran an Intel Core i7 central processing unit.

“Usually over-clocking comes at the cost of capacity. Most over-clocked modules are only available in small capacities and require that you only “half-load” the DRAM bus,” states the announcement.

“This new large capacity kit enables you to “fully load” the DRAM bus,” added the press release.

Unfortunately, the company did not disclose any sort of details regarding pricing and availability.
