Super Street Fighter IV, the overhauled version of the original Street Fighter IV, might see a PC edition appear in the near future, at least according to a listing from the ESRB and after some strong hints from the producer of the two games, Yoshinori Ono.

Super Street Fighter IV was met with critical acclaim last year, when it appeared for platforms like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, as well as in Japanese arcades, bringing new fighters as well as some hefty tweaks to the combat system.

After that, fans of the franchise have been asking Capcom, the developer and publisher of the fighting game, about a possible release on the PC, especially since the first Street Fighter IV appeared on that platform.

Capcom has been pretty silent about such a possibility but now, according to a Twitter response from producer Yoshinori Ono, an official confirmation about such a version may not be too far away.

When asked by a fan on Twitter about Super Street Fighter IV on the PC, Ono replied that he can't talk about it, but more will be known today, April 12, at 8am PST.

After a bit of scooping, Siliconera discovered that at that time, the embargo on news from Capcom's Captivate event will be lifted, so perhaps the Japanese company made some big announcements only to members of the press.

At the same time, it seems that the listing for Super Street Fighter IV at the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) also mentions a version for the PC platform, as well as the older PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 ones.

There are still quite a few questions, especially about what content will be available on the PC version of the fighting game and whether or not the extra fighters and special moves from the Arcade Edition will be added to it when it appears.

Still, it's pretty safe to say that Super Street Fighter IV will be launched for the PC platform, but we need to wait until later today in order to find out when and how it will be made available.
