Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Now Available for Download

Capcom has just deployed the digital version of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace, while the retail release is scheduled to appear later this month.

Capcom decided to release one more major update for its Street Fighter IV fighting game, with the introduction of the Arcade Edition add-on for the Super Street Fighter IV version.

The title was announced a few months ago, during the Captivate media event, and a paid add-on for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles is now being released.

"Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition brings the total roster to 39, adding four new characters into the battle with Evil Ryu, well-known twins Yun and Yang from Street Fighter III, and an all new character, Oni," Capcom said.

"Each with their own unique move sets and super combos, these new characters are beautifully rendered in the trademark Super Street Fighter art style. All the returning characters in the roster have also been rebalanced, from subtle changes such as recovery speeds to more drastic hit box alterations."

Besides the features above, the replay channel has also been updated in this Arcade edition, in order to make it easier to watch matches of the best fighters in the world and learn from their strategies, or just see what your favorite fighters can do in the hands of professional players.

"The Replay Follower allows tracking for 5 favorite players with notifications when new replays are available from this set," Capcom explained. "Proud players can distribute their data to up to 50 friends via the My Channel Advanced feature. Matches by featuring the best-of-the-best can be viewed on the Elite Channel where players can watch replays of the top players by filtering out matches with lower scores."

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is now available for download through the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace, costing $14.99/£11.99/€14.99 or 1200 Microsoft Points.

PC users or those who don't have the regular Super Street Fighter IV will be able to purchase the complete game as well as the Arcade Edition add-on as a retail product on June 24, in Europe, and June 28, in North America, for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, for $39.99.
