The first news reports that ever came to light about Super Street Fighter 4 were those according to which the game would be a standalone product, and not downloadable content or some addon. The second thing that Capcom promised was that the title wouldn't be priced as a full game. The first solid lead in these promises has taken form and it casts a pale shadow over what Capcom said. According to MTV Multiplayer, GameStop has just listed the Super Street Fight 4 as one of their upcoming products and the price isn't really what we expected.

Marked as a March 23 release, Super Street Fighter 4 has been tagged by GameStop at $40 – maybe not what you would expect since they said the game wouldn't be full price, but then again there are more expensive games out there. Capcom wasn't very clear, and didn't offer any actual details regarding the game's price so if this really turns out to be the amount that the title will be going for, they're still covered. They didn't lie, but the ambiguous statement they made might make the fans turn against them. They'll still buy the game, but will complain about it viciously.

Other promises that Capcom made are the ones regarding the game content. Amongst other things they promised "roughly" eight new characters. If you "roughly" cut eight in two, you get two spheres that can easily be interpreted as zero, so if the game doesn't bring any new charters at all, they still "roughly" told the truth. Some of the new characters, like Dee Jay and T. Hawk, are returning members to the Street Fighter cast so we'll assume they'll actually make an appearance. A brand-new character, Juri, received some gameplay trailers and even some modifications to her physical aspect to accommodate the needs of gamers everywhere. Apparently, the game will be a lot more fun if the Korean fighter has a few extra inches to the circumference of her upper body.

The other things that make the new characters be “amongst them” are rebalanced gameplay, an updated online functionality and a mysterious "bonus" for those who already have Street Fighter 4. Capcom haven't confirmed the price and neither the release date, but they didn't deny it either. The game was initially announced for Spring 2010, so if the launch date matches maybe so does the “not full” price.
