Java has been replaced with OpenJDK because Oracle removed it from Canonical's repository

Hacktolive.org announced today, September 13th, the stable and final version of Super OS 11.10, their Ubuntu 11.10 based Linux distribution.

Even if a little late for the party, Super OS 11.10 (formally known as Super Ubuntu) is finally here with some much-needed improvements.

Highlights of Super OS 11.10:

• Multi-language support, with additional translations and language-specific fonts, has been improved; • Virtual Machine support (VirtualBox and VMWare) has been improved; • Several applications have been added: Audacity, Blender, OpenShot, PiTiVi, MyPaint, Pinta, InkScape, Pidgin, GIMP, Synaptic, VirtualBox, Thunderbird, Gdebi, OpenJDK; • Java has been replaced with OpenJDK.

The developer has explained that he had to replace Java with OpenJDK because it has been removed from the Ubuntu repositories.
